A native foundation.
Build and validate the relationship between Rhino’s model, camera, materials and lights, and LEMON’s own renderer.
DEVELOPMENT / A CLEAR DIRECTION
LEMON is an independent real-time renderer in development for Rhino 9. The focus is a native workflow, a faithful image and a responsive creative process.
THE NEXT CHAPTER
Rhino 9 is now available from McNeel. It is also the platform LEMON is being built around.
The current work is about the foundations: native integration, coherent scene updates, GPU rendering and dependable image presentation. Public release support has not been announced.
Explore Rhino 9 at McNeelBuild and validate the relationship between Rhino’s model, camera, materials and lights, and LEMON’s own renderer.
GPU rendering, image delivery, native edits and recovery workflows are under active validation. Scoped engineering results are not public-release support or performance claims.
Ray tracing, path tracing, applicable DLSS capabilities and MCP work remain development directions. Availability will be stated after validation.
DIRECTION NOTE / 2 NOVEMBER 2026
The earlier plan for a Rhino 8 open beta is no longer the active roadmap. The current development focus is Rhino 9.
McNeel’s RhinoAI platform opens a new conversation around design tools. LEMON’s own integration is planned and has not been released.

LEMON is taking shape as an independent real-time renderer for Rhino 9. This journal will follow the work as it becomes ready to share.
ABOUT AVAILABILITY
No public LEMON download is available yet. Release timing, supported hardware and the commercial model remain to be confirmed.
The images on this development website are AI-generated concepts, not rendered with LEMON. They do not demonstrate current capabilities or final output quality. DLSS capabilities remain under evaluation.
